Electrical engineering involves the design, development, testing, and supervision of manufacturing electrical equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, electric motors, navigation systems, and communications systems.
Electrical systems that enable automobiles and aircraft to move are also designed by electrical engineers.
Electronics engineering involves the design and development of electronic equipment such as broadcast and communication systems, and GPS devices.
While the specific duties of electrical engineers and electronics engineers differ, their work is similar in many ways. Indeed, electrical and electronic engineers often have to work together on teams for the projects they are working on. No matter which engineering focus, engineering and design software and equipment are used to accomplish engineering tasks.
Skills you will learn from an Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree
This bachelor’s degree program ensures that the students have a strong foundation in mathematics, physics and chemistry. Throughout the program, E&E students learn about things such as circuit theory, digital and analogue electronics, data and computer networking, communication systems, and digital signal processing.
The program also helps students to develop interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills, all of which are very important when collaborating with other engineers, teams or companies.
